 Barbara Burns, M.D. Dr. Barbara Burns is happy to be returning to her hometown to join Associated Physicians, LLP. Dr. Burns grew up in the shadow of Camp Randall stadium and is a true Badger. She attended Madison West High School and continued her education at the University of Wisconsin - Madison where she graduated with honors in molecular biology in 1998. Dr. Burns graduated from the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health in 2002 and then completed her obstetrics and gynecology residency at the University of Iowa in 2006. After completing residency, Dr. Burns joined Women's Health Advantage in Fort Wayne, Indiana, where she worked as an obstetrician gynecologist for the past four years, until being offered the wonderful opportunity to return to Madison and join Associated Physicians. She is thrilled to be coming back to the community she loves and is looking forward to building new relationships with patients and providing them with the high quality, personalized care for which Associated Physicians is known. Dr. Burns is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology. She is both a diplomate of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and a fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. Her professional interests include all areas of obstetrics and gynecology, including gynecologic surgery in which she is trained in both laparoscopy and robotics. Dr. Burns especially enjoys caring for women who are having difficulty becoming pregnant and helping to see women safely through both normal and complicated pregnancies. Dr. Burns speaks both English and Spanish. She enjoys international medicine and has participated in medical trips to the Dominican Republic, Ecuador, and Ghana. Dr. Burns' other interests include boating, water skiing, and downhill skiing. She is looking forward to spending some relaxing time on Wisconsin's beautiful lakes. |
