Laura Berghahn, MD

Accepting New Patients

Devoted to Patient Health

Dr. Berghahn is a specialist in Obstetrics and Gynecology who loves delivering babies, developing relationships over time, and helping patients make decisions to support their best health.

“One of the best sounds in the world to me is a fetal heartbeat,” she says, with a smile. “It’s rewarding to deliver a patient I’ve known for a long time or who has gone through a period of infertility. If I were to ever lose that feeling of ‘this is a miracle,’ I’d need to retire on the spot.”

Dr. Berghahn and her husband have two children. Dr. Berghahn enjoys yoga, gardening, and watching her kids play soccer and tennis.

Comprehensive Healthcare

Dr. Berghahn graduated Salutatorian from the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health, where she also completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology and served as chief resident. She previously practiced on Madison’s East Side and held an appointment as a clinical associate professor at the medical school for eight years. She joined Associated Physicians in 2010.

Dr. Berghahn is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology. She is both a Diplomate of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and a Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. In addition, she is a member of the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists and the National Vulvodynia Association.  She also became a certified menopause practitioner with the Menopause Society in October 2023. Her professional interests include all aspects of obstetrics, polycystic ovarian syndrome, vulvodynia, and surgical and nonsurgical alternatives to hysterectomy.

Personalized Health Services

At Associated Physicians, Dr. Berghahn provides comprehensive obstetrics and gynecological health care services for patients of all ages. She performs checkups and gynecological exams, advises patients on birth control and family planning, provides prenatal care, performs deliveries and surgeries, and diagnoses and treats conditions ranging from mild infections to chronic and serious health problems.

“Associated Physicians is just the right size for the doctors and our patients, and our nurses are also devoted to the personalized care we provide,” she says. “You will meet all the doctors in our department, so you’ll never be delivered by a stranger. That’s as important to me as I know it is to my patients. And the comprehensive services we provide under one roof make us a great fit not only for our patients, but also for their families.”
