WELCOME TO THE CLUB!

As doctors, we LOVE that reading helps with improving focus + memory, and reduces stress, all while helping you learn important new perspectives.

The OB/GYN department is excited to partner with Leopold's and Mystery To Me to bring the joys of literary works to Madison through their monthly exclusive book selections!

Every month one of your friendly, Associated Physicians OB-GYN Physicians is going to pick out a book, related to a topic in health, society, things that our important to us and make us talk and learn.  We all love to read so we thought, why not share with those who are most important to us: our patients and the community we serve!  We have partnered with local bookstores, Leopold’s and Mystery to Me, to give you dibs on our favorite book of the month, and then we can chat about it!  Join the book club at the link below to receive exclusive forums and details.

"This is a great historical fiction novel about female friendship back during a significant time of social evolution in Iran during the 1950s, 60s and 70s. It covers the way women’s rights changed during those decades and in many ways mirrors what many of us are experiencing here today in the US. I think it is an important piece of history for us all to learn about and reflect upon."

- Dr. Amanda Schwartz, MD

"This was such an incredibly moving book that follows along with a strong, independent, whip smart woman growing up through a pandemic, war, racism, sexism and the like, all while maintaining her composure and determination. This book is reflected through letters to her kin, describing the hardships she faced, the loss of her nearest and dearest, and how her life's events paved the way for her ancestors to be successful and know love.

I would recommend this book for anyone who loves historical fiction or anyone wanting to delve deeper into generational events and how they affect the future."

- Amanda Van Elzen, RN

“The Measure is a fictional book that intertwines the lives of several characters into an intriguing, thought provoking book.

This book made me pause to think about how to live day to day.  Would you live differently if you knew your time was limited? Shouldn't you be living that way no matter what? The Measure is a quick read with memorable characters and while it tackled a heavy concept it did it in a very light, approachable way.”

- Dr. Jill Masana, MD
