Associated Physician’s 75th Anniversary Stories
Retired internist, Dr. Thomas Ansfield, wants to tell you about the old days at Associated Physicians in our first #75thAnniversary Stories Series. Stay tuned for more from Dr. Ansfield and other past and present AP staff and patients!
75 years ago TODAY, Associated Physicians was born! On February 2nd, 1946, our clinic began its legacy as Dane County’s longest-serving, multi-specialty, medical practice. Today, retired internist, Dr. Thomas Ansfield, is our special (virtual) guest and he wants you to know you’re not just patients, you’re family.
Treating our patients like friends and family is just who we’ve always been ☺️ And, that means ALL of our patients. Our long-time patient, Harold, recalls his experience with one of our doctors from “the old days” and shares just how much that personal touch meant to him!
Our “team-based” approach is really more “family-style.” It’s not just about scheduling necessities. It’s about each department and all of their amazing patients building bonds. At Associated Physicians, our goal is for each patient, staff member, and physician to walk down the hall and know all the faces walking by. Our patient, Abbey, loves the fact that she and her kiddos both know and are so well known by our staff and physicians!
Patient and patient parent, Diane, chatted with us about how much she appreciates that all of her family’s medical needs can be met without leaving the clinic! From Podiatry to Behavioral Health, Radiology to Nutritional Counseling, we pride ourselves on giving our patients the most convenient access to the care they need for their total wellbeing.
Maybe we’re sounding like a bit of a broken record, but our patients just LOVE the genuine relationships that they can build with our staff and physicians. Being smaller and independent gives us so much freedom to give you the time and personalized plans that support all your healthcare needs.

We are always growing and evolving to meet the expanding needs of our community, but, as 40+ year patient Harold shares, our genuine care for and connection with our patients remains the same.
Our 75th year in practice has come to a close and we want to thank each and every one of you for your continued support and love! Because of you, we are still Dane County’s longest-serving, independent, multi-specialty medical practice and we aren’t going to give up that title anytime soon! 🌟
