Leslie Riopel, MD
Committed to Children's Health
Dr. Riopel is a specialist in Pediatric Medicine who knows that laughter can be the best medicine.
"I love my job because kids are a great source of humor,” she says with a smile. "It's gratifying to be able to help children learn healthy habits early in life, and to be there for them as they grow from infants to young adults."
Comprehensive and Compassionate
Dr. Riopel is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics. She earned her undergraduate degree at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and received her medical degree from New York Medical College before returning to Madison to complete her residency. Prior to becoming a doctor, she pursued an interest in diversity and public health by participating in study-abroad programs in Mexico and Africa, including an experience focused on maternal and child health in Kenya. With an interest in giving back, she volunteered with the Red Cross during the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.
At Associated Physicians, pediatric patients see Dr. Riopel for well-child checkups, sports physicals, and for serious illnesses. "I am committed to working together with parents to prioritize health and wellness in their growing families," she says.
Wellness Teamwork
Dr. Riopel likes the team approach of comprehensive pediatric care at Associated Physicians. "It means I can help families find specialists, access resources, and navigate the health care system," she says. "Most of all, it means I can support families and help them make the best decisions based on their own values and experiences."
Dr. Riopel lives in Madison, where she enjoys biking and hiking in the summer and snow-shoeing and skiing in the winter. She has a strong connection to northern Wisconsin and enjoys visiting with her extended family and friends on her days off.
